Each course is to have a comprehensive or concluding assessment, in a format that is most appropriate for students and the course content and standards. Obviously not all assessments must take the form of a traditional exam. In fairness to the students, however, no other major assessments are to be given during finals week outside of the assigned department testing days so that students can perform their best in each department assessment situation. Minor assessments that are part of the normal classroom pattern may be given as usual, i.e. weekly quizzes, daily homework, etc. These minor assessments should be consistent in scope and weight to other weekly or daily assignments.
Students, please make sure that you plan at least two days in advance for possible testing changes due to weather conditions. Students are responsible for preparation for tests in spite of bad weather. It is important that students make contingency plans that may be necessary to complete the semester course work. Take home any books or materials you will need to prepare for at least two days testing each day as you leave school.
