Historine Chapel project resume

Historine Chapel project resumes
by Lori Kooiman (10/26/07)

Mcdonald's, Mickey Mouse and U2 decorate the ceiling in social studies teacher Ed Niespodzani's classroom. The project began last year, which expands on the historical timeline in the social studies hall, also painted by students over the past years.  Named the Historine Chapel (after the Sistine Chapel and its famous painted ceiling) by Mr. Niespodzani, it provides students an opportunity to paint ceiling tiles with a historical figure or event.

"To paint a tile a student has to draw it out and if I think it will fit then they can paint it," Mr Niespodzani said. "The design has to be a historical theme, event or icon.”

According to Mr. Niespodzani, the painting resumes on October 30 after school.
