Stock Market Game in full swing

Stock Market Game in full swing
by Maria Riddle (04/11/08)

The Stock Market Games give students from economics classes the chance to get a real world experience without spending a dime.

“The Stock Market Games let economics students experience what it is like to buy and sell stock in the open marketplace and to feel the pressure of the market,” said economics teacher Steve Perry. “Students can watch their investments grow. It is a real life situation.”

Students compete with other high schools in Indiana. A group of first semester participants placed first in the state. Economics teachers Steve Perry, Ingrid Stephens and Laurie Pfaffenberger help the students get prepared, while students work on their investments in class. Currently, the highest place team ranks 3rd in the state.
