For decades rock and roll music has enjoyed popularity across the globe, steadily growing from a simple style of music into an unprecedented social phenomenon. It has influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes and even language. Every year, AP US History classes here explore rock and roll music’s social impact on today’s world with a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
“We’ve been doing this for several years now,” AP teacher Ed Niespodziani said. “Our aim is to have the students explore the connection modern music has to modern history and modern culture. And for this particular project, what better place to go than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?”
The trip is scheduled for next week. On Monday the students will leave at noon and arrive at the Holiday Inn Select Hotel at 5:30 p.m. The next morning students will visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and return to Columbus later that night.
“I’ve been for looking forward this trip ever since my freshman year,” junior Adriana Bartolo said. “I hope it is worth the wait.”
