Twenty-four years, a record span older than any of the girls competing to keep it alive. The women’s swim team has won sectional 24 times in a row, the state record for sectional titles. They plan to extend the streak at sectional finals tomorrow.
“It’s really nerve-racking even though we are pretty confident the team will do well; you as an individual still have to swim well to go to State,” junior Caitlin Sharpe said.
The sectional started Thursday. Finals continue on tomorrow Feb. 2, with diving at 9 a.m. and swimming
at 1 p.m.
